Gmail Install

Repfabric Email requires modification to the settings of Gmail at indvidual and sometimes at the organizational level.


Enable POP or IMAP

  1. Go into you Gmail, and click the settings icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  3. Enable the radio buttons for IMAP and POP.

Now try to sync your email using the “Get Email” in your Repfabric email inbox.  If that fails, please continue below.


Enabling less secure apps to access accounts – INDIVIDUAL USER

  1. Sign in to your Google User account.
  2. Under Sign-in & Security, click Connected apps & sites.
  3. Under Less secure apps, select Go to settings for less secure apps.
  4. In the section titled Allow less secure apps, enable the button to “ON”.

You can toggle access for less secure apps on or off from here.


If you use Two Step Authentication – INDIVIDUAL USER

Repfabric will show an incorrect password error as it cannot prompt the user to enter a security code on sign-in.   In such cases, you will need to obtain and enter a unique app password to sign in.

  1. Sign in to your Google User account.
  2. Under Sign-in & Security, click App Passwords.
  3. At the bottom, click Select App and choose ‘Repfabric’ if already listed (if not in the list, select ‘Other’).
  4. Follow the instructions to enter the App password (16 character code in the yellow bar).   Select “Done”.  NOTE: Once you select “Done”, you will not be able to see the password again so be sure to record it.
  5. Please configure your Repfabric email with the new App password.    (https://[yourcompanyname].repfabric3.wpenginepowered.com/RepfabricSys/faces/config/Setup.xhtml > Email tab >Change Email Password in upper right corner)

Now try to sync your email using the “Get Email” in your Repfabric email inbox.  If that fails, please continue below.


Enabling less secure apps to access accounts – ADMINISTRATIOR

This is for use for your Google apps administrator to allow your organization to use less secure apps.   If you are not your company’s system administrator, please contact them to complete or check that these steps have been configured.

  1. Sign in to the Google Admin console.
  2. Click Security > Basic settingsWhere is it?
  3. Under Less secure apps, select Go to settings for less secure apps.
  4. In the subwindow, select the Allow users to manage their access to less secure apps radio button.

Once you’ve set Allow users to manage their access to less secure apps to on, affected users within the selected group or Organizational Unit will be able to toggle access for less secure apps on or off themselves.
